Port of Huntsville Promotes Captain Chris Scott to Chief of Public Safety

We are so happy to announce the promotion of Captain Chris Scott to Chief of Public Safety for Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority!  He began his post on January 26th. He had been in the role of Acting Chief for the past six months.

“Chris has been with HMCAA for over eleven years and has over eighteen years total experience in the public safety sector. He has been an outstanding performer for the organization and has demonstrated how capable he is time and again.  We look forward to his continued tenure reflecting our core values” said Rick Tucker, executive director for the Port of Huntsville. “His experience working with and developing key relationships with local mutual aid partners will be instrumental to his success in this new appointment.”

As Chief of Public Safety, Chris will lead the law enforcement, aircraft rescue fire fighting and emergency medical services, as well as function as the airport security coordinator for the Port of Huntsville.

He is married to wife, Jocelyn and has two daughters, Hailey and Maslyn.  Chief Scott is a long-time member of the McGregor Lodge Fraternal Order of Police, AAAE and the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police. He is also active in the community and state as a member of a variety of committees and organizations including serving as the Alabama state representative with the  Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Working Group.

In addition to his police, firefighter and EMT duties, Chief Scott also drives in the Huntsville Christmas Parade, along with Airlene (our Elf-On-A-Shelf) on behalf of the airport!  We are so lucky to have such a dedicated, professional and FUN Chief of Public Safety.  He shows excellent leadership and garners great respect and friendship from the employees of HMCAA.
